Lesson 12 Healing crisis

Embarking on a journey of natural cleansing and detoxification can have remarkable benefits for your body. The body possesses its own remarkable cleaning mechanisms through four key organs: the bowels, skin, lungs, and kidneys. These organs work tirelessly to maintain cleanliness and promote overall health.

When the body encounters foreign invaders, it naturally strives to eliminate them through its eliminative organs. This process may manifest as diarrhea, vomiting, sweating, coughing, mucus, or nasal discharge. However, we often hinder the body’s innate healing abilities by resorting to chemical medications that provide temporary symptom relief. Unfortunately, such medications suppress the body’s natural elimination process, driving viruses and bacteria deeper into the tissues, leading to potential long-term health problems.

By relying on medication to manage immediate symptoms, we may inadvertently overlook the root causes of our conditions. For example, the use of cortisone cream to address a skin condition may temporarily clear the symptoms, but it could result in the development of asthma later on. Subsequently, Bronchodilators may control the asthma but potentially cause depression. In our efforts to alleviate symptoms, we may unintentionally overlook the underlying causes of our health issues. Additionally, environmental toxins and the consumption of unhealthy foods contribute to the need for regular detoxification.

During the detoxification process, toxins are released from storage and circulate in the body for elimination. This can sometimes lead to temporary discomfort as the body cleanses itself. Consumption of substances like caffeine, refined sugar, and alcohol also contribute to what is known as a healing crisis.

Following the detoxification process, many individuals experience signs of the healing process, including headaches, skin breakouts, bowel sluggishness, fatigue, sweating, frequent urination, congestion, nasal discharge, or body aches. Some individuals may briefly experience feelings of anxiety, irritability, or mental depression.

It’s crucial to understand that your body is undergoing a natural cleansing and detoxification process. It’s utilizing the energy it has saved from the digestion of difficult meals that have been discontinued. This cleansing process is a positive occurrence.

To support your body’s natural cleansing process, it is best to avoid over-the-counter drugs that halt the cleansing process. If you are on prescription medication, consult your doctor before discontinuing it. Drinking plenty of water and getting ample rest can also facilitate the detoxification process.

The duration of the healing crisis typically ranges from a few hours to a few days. The healthier your body is to begin with, the milder the symptoms will be. If there is a significant amount of accumulated toxins to eliminate, the cleansing side effects may be more intense and prolonged. Symptoms can also be less pronounced if dietary changes are introduced gradually rather than abruptly. This is why the preparation days for detoxification are essential. Each healing crisis is followed by increased vitality and improved well-being.

It is equally important to transition off the detoxification process correctly as it is to undergo detoxification. Your body is in a cleansing mode and will continue until clogging foods are reintroduced. As you complete the detoxification, continue taking the herbs as instructed. You may notice that many of the discomforting symptoms you were experiencing will begin to fade away. The three-day cleanse can yield significant results, including weight loss and elimination of stored waste in the colon. If you are taking medication, consult your prescribing doctor to work with you throughout the program. Gradually reintroduce fresh fruits, salads, and vegetables into your diet. Some individuals choose to juice white foods for a few days before consuming solid foods, allowing the body more time and energy to heal and regain strength. Listen to your body’s cues as it is now cleansed and more sensitive to toxins. A couple of beers may make you feel intoxicated, eating pizza could lead to feeling unwell, and a candy bar might trigger
