About Us

Making the world a better place

The Interfaith Council of Contra Costa County facilitates and fosters peacebuilding, respect, and collaboration among people of diverse faith and Indigenous traditions, spiritual expressions, and cultures. We focus on promoting interfaith understanding through community service, dialogue, and supporting freedom of religion and belief. Through the lens of reconciliation and transformation, we work to build bridges and celebrate our common humanity throughout Contra Costa County and the greater San Francisco Bay Area.

SOJA (Social Justice Alliance)

A tenet of all religions is to care for our fellow humans. We are all our brothers’ and sisters’ keepers. Social justice is at the core of every faith's teaching. Since the 1970’s the Social Justice Alliance (SOJA) has been working with various social justice groups in Contra Costa County. Its members support worthy causes and do group advocacy with these other groups.

SINGING MESSENGERS

The Singing Messengers, under the direction of Ms. Marjorie Musante and a team of leaders, sends musical teams into nursing homes across the county, with three separate programs each year. There are now three teams that share their special programs all over the county throughout three seasons each year. Please contact Marjorie for more information, to join, or to schedule a presentation.
